Europamundo is certified since 2019 in the “Q” for Tourism Quality through the Spanish Institute for Tourism Quality.

World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)

Europamundo has been an affiliated member of the WORLD TOURISM ORGANISATION (a United Nations organization) since 2012.

We hope, through this affiliation, to make our modest contribution to the UNWTO’s goal of promoting more ethical, responsible and wealth-creating tourism in our world.

Europamundo joins the United Nations Global Code of Ethics for Tourism signed before UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai at Fitur 2016.

PARTNERS OF THE UNWTO ST-EP PROGRAM

The Europamundo Foundation participates as a partner in the ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism Eliminating Poverty) program and in its Tourism and Poverty Alleviation projects since 2012

Additional support from governments, development agencies and other public and private organizations allows UNWTO to continue expanding the ST-EP initiative and develop tourism for the benefit of the most disadvantaged.

UN GLOBAL COMPACT

Europamundo has been a “participant” member of the Spanish Global Compact Network since 2014 (United Nations Global Compact), which is an international and voluntary ethical commitment initiative aimed at ensuring that all companies in all countries implement its 10 Principles of Conduct and action in the areas of Human Rights, Labour Standards, Environment and Anti-Corruption as an integral part of their operations and strategy.

The Global Compact also advises entities to make their progress report, or sustainability report, as another step in the implementation of their Corporate Social Responsibility policies.

WTTC – WORLD TRAVEL & TOURISM COUNCIL

Since 2015, Europamundo Vacations has been a member of the World Travel & Tourism Council.

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) is the forum for business leaders in the travel and tourism industry. Its members are more than 100 CEOs from the world’s leading travel and tourism companies. The WTTC has a single mandate and a global overview of all topics related to travel and tourism. The WTTC works to raise awareness of Travel and Tourism as one of the largest industries in the world, supporting 284 million jobs and generating 9.8% of global GDP.

2022- Standards of Conduct to Address Discrimination against LGTBI+ persons
It is an unprecedented set of global standards to help the business community address discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
Produced with the Institute for Business and Human Rights and launched in 2017, the Standards are based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. They reflect the contributions of hundreds of companies from various sectors, presenting case studies and best practices.

2021 – Global Tourism Plastics Initiative
The problem of plastics in tourism is too big for any one organization to fix on its own. This initiative aims to articulate, support and scale up the actions of tourism stakeholders and is creating a global alliance to fight plastic pollution. It is part of the activities of the Sustainable Tourism Program of the One Planet network. and is led by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Tourism Organization, in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

2021 – Glasgow Declaration
This is an urgent global call for commitment to a decade of climate action in tourism by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and One Planet Network. Signatories commit to act now and accelerate climate action to reduce global emissions from tourism by at least half in the next decade and reach zero as soon as possible before 2050.

The Climate Ambition Accelerator aims to scale up credible climate action in companies of all sizes, sectors and regions, enabling them to meet meaningful commitments to reduce emissions at scale. It is a programme that builds on the work of the UN Global Compact to develop and promote the Science Based Targets initiative, its net-zero standards and the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign and will contribute to initiatives such as the Race to Zero campaign.

2019 – Business Ambition1,5ºC
Leading companies are already proving that a 1.5°C-compliant business model is possible, and there is evidence that these companies will be best-placed to thrive as the global economy undergoes a just transition to a net-zero future by 2050. The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Bank.

2018 – The Buenos Aires Declaration of the WTTC on the illegal trade in wildlife in 2018: in April 2018, WTTC launched the Travel & Tourism Declaration on Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT), a commitment by more than 100 members to actively engage in the global fight against illegal wildlife trade.

 

2018 – TARGET GENDER EQUALITY

Target Gender Equality is a gender equality accelerator programme for participating companies of the UN Global Compact. Through facilitated performance analysis, capacity building workshops, peer-to-peer learning and multi-stakeholder dialogue at the country-level, Target Gender Equality will support companies engaged with the UN Global Compact in setting and reaching ambitious corporate targets for women’s representation and leadership.

2018 – Ring the bell for Gender Equality
From 2018 to 2020, BME and the Spanish Global Compact Network are organising the Ring the Bell for Gender Equality initiative in Spain, which is being held simultaneously in more than 100 markets around the world. Following the Ring the Bell, the Spanish Global Compact Network held an event on women’s leadership in which it presented the results of the first edition of the Target Gender Equality (TGE) programme, in which Europamundo participated.

The European Community Transparency Register:

The transparency register is a database that lists organizations that try to influence the law-making and policy implementation process of the EU institutions. The register makes visible what interests are being pursued, by whom and with what budgets. In this way, the register allows for public scrutiny, giving citizens and other interest groups the possibility to track the activities of lobbyists.

2016 – Diversity Charter

The Diversity Charter is a CHARTER OF COMITMMENT OF 10 PRINCIPLES that, on a VOLUNTARY basis and FREE OF CHARGE, companies and institutions of the same country sign, regardless of their size or sector. By signing the charter, companies and institutions commit to promoting the fundamental principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
